Sustainability: CEOs Say Sustainability Is Critical To Success

A survey released by the UN Global Compact and Accenture says 93% of CEOs believe sustainability will be critical to success. 766 CEOs were questioned worldwide, with 80% indicating the credit crisis has elevated the importance of sustainability as a source of cost efficiency and revenue growth. It revealed this year, 81% of CEOs believ sustainability issues have become part of their company’s strategy, compared with 50% in 2007.
91% of CEOs says they’ll employ new technologies to address sustainability issues over the next five years, while 78% say companies should collaborate with a variety of stakeholders, including Govt agencies and NGOs, to address sustainability related issues.
